Spending time in the landscape is an important part of my process. I like working with watercolour because it is an interactive medium, that responds in real-time to changes in water flow and temperature. It’s an exciting and challenging medium to work with, particularly when painting outdoors.

Bio:

Samantha is a watercolour artist based in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. Her paintings are expressive interpretations of local landscapes, shoreline scenes and the richness of everyday rural life. Samantha discovered an interest in painting with watercolour four years ago, and has since expanded her skills working in different mediums including willow charcoal and ink as seen in her figurative horse studies. An avid plein air painter, Samantha shares her experiences painting outdoors on her YouTube channel, hosting in-person workshops and taking part in local exhibitions.
