I paint in oils to capture the fleeting nature of light and shadow. Clouds, landscapes, farms, forests, flora and fauna are subjects that I return to again and again. I am greatly influenced by the rural world around me.
Barbara loves to paint historic buildings and local barns. Barbara continued to work in watercolours for years developing techniques of her own. Barbara graduated from Conestoga College in the Graphic Arts and Advertising Design program. She worked as a graphic designer for 15 years in Toronto. After having children, she became a freelance graphic designer. Later she moved to Grey County with her husband and children. She is influenced by Van Gogh, Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven. She uses thick paint and strong brush strokes to express herself in the painting process.
